ATLANTA – Oct. 27, 2015 – The Technology Executives Roundtable (TER), an association that consists of more than 120 CEOs, CFOs and general managers in Georgia’s technology community, announced that it will honor David Cummings, CEO of Atlanta Ventures, with the Sixth Annual John Imlay Leadership Award at a ceremony on Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2015, at 7 a.m. at the City Club of Buckhead in Atlanta.
The John Imlay Leadership Award recognizes and celebrates individuals who have shown exceptional leadership on behalf of the Georgia high-tech community. It is named in honor of John Imlay, Jr., former chairman of Imlay Investments, who is credited with helping create two of Atlanta’s biggest tech industries – software and Internet security.
Cummings, the 2015 award recipient, co-founded Pardot in 2007, which was recognized as the 172nd fastest growing company in 2012 according to Inc. magazine. Shortly thereafter Pardot was acquired by ExactTarget for nearly $100 million and was subsequently acquired by Salesforce. Most recently, Cummings founded the Atlanta Tech Village, the largest technology entrepreneur center in the Southeast.
“David’s entrepreneurial talent and leadership, kickstarting five tech companies over the last decade, has been a key component of Georgia’s technology boon,” said Dick Cook, president of TER. “We are grateful for his ongoing contributions advancing the technology industry and are privileged to recognize him as this year’s recipient of the John Imlay Leadership Award.”
“I am truly honored to be recognized as this year’s recipient of the John Imlay Leadership Award,” said Cummings. “It’s an exciting time for Georgia’s high-tech community, and I look forward to being a part of its continued growth in the future.”
The TER awards ceremony will include a fireside chat led by Bill Nussey, IBM’s VP of Corporate Strategy and Chairman of Silverpop. Nussey will be the first to lead this annual TER tradition since the passing of Imlay this March.
